• for this week we randomly picked an Album from 1001 Albums To Listen before we die and we landed on 1996 Sepultura Nu Metal classic "Roots"
• How does our resident Nu Metal expert host Ed think of this record? How does Grind dad James think?

Main Event:

• for this week we continue on with maybe one of the most boring shows we have watched, episode 3 of VH1 Supergroup
• listen as we recap Sebastian Bach go from one of our favorite's to most annoying in one episode

Classic Album Review:

• on this episode we review the classic album from 1967 "The Velvet Underground & Nico"
• for us with the podcast our reference of the late Lou Reed was his record with Metallica "LULU"
• how did that review play into this one? was this classic record actually CLASSIC?!?!?

Main Event:

• and for the MAIN EVENT we continue on to episode 2 of VH1's 2006 "hit show" Supergroup
• listen as time is ticking on these "ROCK LEGENDS" as they need to get ready for a show in front of a HAWT Las Vegas Crowd and make a new original song that should save rock and roll
• but Jason has to step away for 2 days as it puts the band in a crunch but during that time they make head way on coming up with a band name! what is it any good? only one way to find out.

AFTERPARTY METALLICA ALBUM RANKINGS:

• well after listening to all of Metallica's studio albums each host has made their album rankings
• one was actually practical while the other made a list of their experience reviewing the albums on the show that in turn with controversial picks that should piss off your basic metal heads

Listening friends we're back with another packed episode. As one journey ends another begins as we finish reviewing Metallica studio albums and start reviewing VH1's Supergroup (2006). For the cold open of the show good host James runs down his tiring weekend that leads up to this show and then we start the show proper with HAWT OR NAWT!!!!

• for this weeks hawt or nawt, Mr. Hawtornawt sends us a track by the super indie rock band The 1975 as Mr. Hawtornawt explains to us that this could be possibly THE FUTURE OF ROCK AND ROLL itself

• Well its been a long journey and we're at the end as we review the new Metallica album "72 Seasons"
• One host loves the album while the other not as much
• do you feel Metallica delivered the goods with this record? well listen along as we discuss our opinions and make the score!!!

• well listeners as we close the chapter of reviewing Metallica albums we start another as we review 2006 reality "hit" show VH1's Supergroup!!!

• Then for the Classic Album Review we finally make the finish line of listening to Metallica's Studio Discography with their 2016 album "Hardwire...To Self-Destruct"(for now, till 72 seasons comes out)
• And for the MAIN EVENT!!!! we watch 2016 "Shin Godzilla". Listen as we talk about the creator who is the same for "Neon Genesis Evangelion" as James relents some sue do frustrations. And since this is a movie about a disaster in Japan there is AMERICA References (listen on how this plays out for the review).

• well it finally has come to this, as we have finally gotten to reviewing Metallica's infamous collaboration with Lou Reed "LULU"!!!
• yes this record is bad but hey you get to have fun with us hating on it, or did we?
• no but for real this record is a difficult listen but we also dive into what the band themselves have said about this record and what avant garde music listeners said too, as this album has a wayyyyy different perspective then we initially thought

MAIN EVENT:

• for this weeks main event (if you can call it after reviewing LULU) we watched Hobo With A Shotgun (2011)
• a dark comedy that pays homage to the B movie shlock of the 1970s
• yes we casually touch on the history and time period with this movie having relations to "Machete" (2010)
• listen to us react to the gore and all the wacky acting this movie tried to present itself with

Listening friends we're back today with a special episode. Breaking away from the usual format we decided to review this years WWE Royal Rumble event. Hello listening friends we're back with another god damn long episode (we try to make them shorter but we fail). On todays Main Event we watched the 2008 rockumentary (dumb word) on Canada's underground heavy metal darling's ANVIL!!!! With the documentary "Anvil! The Story of Anvil". But before we start reviewing that mess of a band, your hosts James and Edward for the cold open talk about disasters at the work place with yuppie coworkers and playing a live set with major equipment malfunctions (good rants here people). Then to start the show proper~

CLASSIC ALBUM REVIEW:

• we're still on the Metallica journey as this week we reviewed 2008 "Death Magnetic"
• some say this record was their comeback album or return to classic form, we have some disagreements on that statement
• but how does this record compare to that classics? listen to our (un)professional takes

MAIN EVENT:

• for this week we review the critically acclaimed 2008 documentary "Anvil! The Story of Anvil"
• listen as we figure why a band like Anvil never made it big for the 1980s heavy metal scene
• some have speculated this documentary is fake on how satirical it seems but nope this is a wacky bunch of delusional rockers
• does Anvil finally get there big break? only one way to find out

• Listen as Bonesteel tells us that Peyton Parrish is huge on tik tok for their VIKING gimmick and James gets cringe out and bitches about Neo Viking Culture
• also we do comparisons of this song to the original and the Michael Bolton version

Classic Album Review:

• Continuing our Metallica studio discography we listen to the infamous record "St Anger"!!!
• Does this record deserve its bad reputation? can we say it's the worst Metallica record!?!
• One host hold this as one of their top 3 Metallica albums, other just loves the brutal snare tone

MAIN EVENT:

• Continuing talking about St Anger we also watched Some Kind of Monster (2004) 
• A documentary showing Metallica at their lowest point in the band's life
• Listen as we review their journey to go through self discovery and tame their egos with sad to hilarious moments
• And yes all the Lars impressions

For the main event we continue watching Chicago Bull's NBA players try to be actors with 1997 "Double Team"!!!! With Dennis Rodman and Jean Claude Van Damme!!! But before that your hosts catch up as they try to talk about their busy month of December with "reasons" why we haven't been able to record a podcast. Then to start the show proper~

 

HAWT OR NAWT:

• we're these old heads able to write a song that was HAWT OR NAWT?!?!?!

CLASSIC ALBUM REVIEW:

• we continue our Metallica studio discography listens with their 1997 album "Reload"
• continuing what basically is a double album only separated by a year
• it's Alt-tallica and of course one host like the record more than the other
• but really its' not great but makes good radio as we break it down (don't worry St Anger is next)

MAIN EVENT:

• todays main event is the 1997 movie featuring Jean Claude Van Damme and Dennis Rodman "Double Team"
• a terrible movie with a 11% on rotten tomatoes but let's be honest this movie is dumb fun and not boring
• how did bad boy Dennis Rodman do in his acting debut?!?! (spoiler bad but awesome)
• also Micky Rourke is the bad guy and he is defeated in ridiculous fashion
