Listening friends sorry for the long delay, your hosts have been busy but we're back today with another packed episode. For the cold open conversations we explain why its been a minute since we done an episode. Then to start the show proper we roll into this weeks HAWT OR NAWT.
HAWT OR NAWT:
- for this week Mr. Hawtornawt sent us a track by Big Boss Vette "Pretty Girls Walk" (2022)
- it's stripper fight music and we're stoked
- no mystery here if the track is HAWT OR NAWT
C.A.R METALLICA:
- well it finally has come to this, as we have finally gotten to reviewing Metallica's infamous collaboration with Lou Reed "LULU"!!!
- yes this record is bad but hey you get to have fun with us hating on it, or did we?
- no but for real this record is a difficult listen but we also dive into what the band themselves have said about this record and what avant garde music listeners said too, as this album has a wayyyyy different perspective then we initially thought
MAIN EVENT:
- for this weeks main event (if you can call it after reviewing LULU) we watched Hobo With A Shotgun (2011)
- a dark comedy that pays homage to the B movie shlock of the 1970s
- yes we casually touch on the history and time period with this movie having relations to "Machete" (2010)
- listen to us react to the gore and all the wacky acting this movie tried to present itself with

Hello listening friends we're back with another god damn long episode (we try to make them shorter but we fail). On todays Main Event we watched the 2008 rockumentary (dumb word) on Canada's underground heavy metal darling's ANVIL!!!! With the documentary "Anvil! The Story of Anvil". But before we start reviewing that mess of a band, your hosts James and Edward for the cold open talk about disasters at the work place with yuppie coworkers and playing a live set with major equipment malfunctions (good rants here people). Then to start the show proper~
HAWT OR NAWT:
- for this week Mr. Hawtornawt sent us a high energy trap track by the artist Gameboy Jones with their song "REV IT UP"
- was the song HAWT OR NAWT?
- was the song nerd cringe?!?!
CLASSIC ALBUM REVIEW:
- we're still on the Metallica journey as this week we reviewed 2008 "Death Magnetic"
- some say this record was their comeback album or return to classic form, we have some disagreements on that statement
- but how does this record compare to that classics? listen to our (un)professional takes
MAIN EVENT:
- for this week we review the critically acclaimed 2008 documentary "Anvil! The Story of Anvil"
- listen as we figure why a band like Anvil never made it big for the 1980s heavy metal scene
- some have speculated this documentary is fake on how satirical it seems but nope this is a wacky bunch of delusional rockers
- does Anvil finally get there big break? only one way to find out

But to start the show proper
Hawt or Nawt:
- for this week Mr. Hawtornawt (Bonesteel) sent us a track by Peyton Parrish "Go The Distance" a cover song from the Disney animated movie Hercules
- Listen as Bonesteel tells us that Peyton Parrish is huge on tik tok for their VIKING gimmick and James gets cringe out and bitches about Neo Viking Culture
- also we do comparisons of this song to the original and the Michael Bolton version
Classic Album Review:
- Continuing our Metallica studio discography we listen to the infamous record "St Anger"!!!
- Does this record deserve its bad reputation? can we say it's the worst Metallica record!?!
- One host hold this as one of their top 3 Metallica albums, other just loves the brutal snare tone
MAIN EVENT:
- Continuing talking about St Anger we also watched Some Kind of Monster (2004)
- A documentary showing Metallica at their lowest point in the band's life

HAWT OR NAWT:
- for todays Hawt OR Nawt good friend Bonesteel or also know as Mr. Hawtornawt make us listen to a new song by Pop Punk Dads Simple Plan "Ruin My Life" feat. Deryck Whibley(Sum 41)
- we're these old heads able to write a song that was HAWT OR NAWT?!?!?!
CLASSIC ALBUM REVIEW:
- we continue our Metallica studio discography listens with their 1997 album "Reload"
- continuing what basically is a double album only separated by a year
- it's Alt-tallica and of course one host like the record more than the other
- but really its' not great but makes good radio as we break it down (don't worry St Anger is next)
MAIN EVENT:
- todays main event is the 1997 movie featuring Jean Claude Van Damme and Dennis Rodman "Double Team"
- a terrible movie with a 11% on rotten tomatoes but let's be honest this movie is dumb fun and not boring
- how did bad boy Dennis Rodman do in his acting debut?!?! (spoiler bad but awesome)
- also Micky Rourke is the bad guy and he is defeated in ridiculous fashion

Hawt or Nawt:
- Bonesteel today sent us a track by Taylor Swift "Anti-Hero"
- listen as we try to recount the career of T Swift and the decade she left behind with all her angry antics
- was this track HAWT OR NAWT?!?!?
Classic Album Review:
- continuing our Metallica full length review journey we listen to 1996 "Load"
- how does this record compare after coming off The Black Album? Really harsh
- but listen as one host likes this record wayyyyy more than the other as we got some spicy ratings for these songs
MAIN EVENT:
- for the MAIN EVENT this week in correlation with the year 1996 we reviewed "Space Jam"
- a movie that was a crossover event with The Looney Toons and NBA Legend Michael Jordan

- was this track HAWT or NAWT?
The C.A.R:
- today we reviewed Metallica's monumental album that shot the band to the status they are today 1992's self titled "Metallica"
- there is a lot to say about this record, there's a lot that is said on this episode about this record
- but with a 3rd host on board we get a lot of variety in song scores that almost turns chaotic (not really chill reader)
MAIN EVENT
- You tired of Metallica yet? well too bad for you cause for your MAIN EVENT we review the first half of "A Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica" (apologies in advanced we could not find a proper stream of the second half with them touring the record )

- but the real question was this track Hawt or Nawt?
C.A.R:
- We continue the Metallica album listening train with 1988's And Justice for All...
- if anyone has listen with us with the Metallica journey we have been preparing for what some call the album Progtallica or just riff soup

MAIN EVENT: BLOODSPORT
- for the MAIN EVENT this week we watch a casual favorite for good host James, 1988's "Bloodsport"
- the breakout movie for Jean Claude Van Damme and the first JCVD film we reviewed
- this movie at first is really shitty with terrible acting (Forest Whitaker is in this movie and his acting is sketchy) but when we get the KUMITE going this movie turns into a fun tournament fighter
- listen with us as we breakdown this cheesy movie
Rad show as always, enjoy friends~!
